MORLEY PARISH BEGAN IN 1954
In 1960 our Church was dedicated to Our Lord Jesus Christ the Infant and His Virgin Mother Mary.
The image of the Infant Jesus venerated in our Church is to the left of the sanctuary. Jesus is seated on his mother Mary’s lap, the ‘Seat of Wisdom’.
Mary presents the Infant Jesus to us.
The mission of the saints is to bring us to Jesus and so the Carmelite saints Teresa of Ávila and John of the Cross both point us to Jesus.

Our Mission
Our mission is to continually renew and ignite our faith through encounters with Christ in life and prayer, in Word and sacraments, in celebration and community, and to share God’s gift with others.
Our Values
Our values are at the heart of our community. We live these values, nurtured and nourished by our worship, prayer and relationships, which guide us and enrich our daily lives. We have truly experienced God’s saving love and so, are actively committed to putting God first in our daily lives and going out to proclaim that love to others.
We believe God is calling us to be a Christ-centred community that is:
- Prayerful and Eucharistic – we aim to enable all the opportunity to experience the presence of Christ in our liturgical and community life.
- Missionary and Evangelising – we aim to look beyond ourselves to serve and be Christ to all we meet.
- Committed to nourishing and strengthening faith – by our baptism it is our responsibility to deepen our faith and our understanding.
- Humble, healing and merciful – service and welcome to all regardless of one’s status or past.
- Inclusive, participatory and synodal – we aim to genuinely invite and accept all who come.
Parish Pastoral Council
Our Parish Council meets every six weeks with the Parish Priest to discern and make decisions to enhance the ongoing needs the Parish.
Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to all. To live, grow and persevere in the faith until the end we must nourish it with the word of God; we must beg the Lord to increase our faith; it must be “working through charity,” abounding in hope, and rooted in the faith of the Church. Catechism of the Catholic Church # 162
Serving our community in ministry enables ‘working through charity’ to bear fruit for both the minister and the members of the community. Jesus shows us how to serve – in humility and with unconditional love.
Within the parish community there are many opportunities for you to share your gifts or skills, to exercise your mind and body with light (or slightly heavier!) duties, or simply while away some time in a happy environment. New sustainable opportunities and initiatives can be created too.
If you would like to get involved in our parish council, please contact Parish Office at 9276 8500.
As the leaders of each group change from time to time,
please contact the Parish Office for the latest contact.
