Dear Parishioners,

Earlier this year, Pope Leo XIV announced a Jubilee Year – “The Year of St. Francis” – from 10^th January, 2026 to 10^th January, 2027. Especially addressed to members of the Franciscan Order and those particularly inspired by Franciscan Spirituality the year marks 800 years since the transit of St Francis of Assisi. With this in mind, I pray that this year be a special time of grace for those who indeed have a great love of St Francis and share in his spirituality.

Dear sisters and brothers,

This Monday, Australia Day, I will complete my term as Parish Priest of Morley. I have been PP of Morley on three occasions. This time it has been for eight and a half years. It has been a privilege, a time of grace, healing and love.

Christmas Blessings

Today with grateful hearts we celebrate Christmas, our parish feast. When the Infant Jesus was born in Bethlehem the Angels sang God praises: ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favours!’ (Luke 2: 13-14) No one is excluded from God’s love and peace. May God abundantly bless you all. May your families know his peace, joy and love at this time and always. May our world find peace through the Prince of Peace, Jesus himself.

Pour forth, we beseech you, O Lord,

your grace into our hearts,

that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ your Son

was made known by the message of an Angel,

may by his Passion and Cross

be brought to the glory of his Resurrection.

O God, who see how your people faithfully await the feast of the Lord’s birth,

enable us to attain the joys of so great a salvation

and to celebrate them always

with solemn worship and glad rejoicing.

Almighty and merciful God,                                                                                                              

may no earthly undertaking hinder those                                                                                                    

who set out in haste to meet your Son,                                                                                                    

but may our learning of heavenly wisdom                                                                                                 

gain us admittance to his company.
