In last Sunday’s Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), we celebrated in a very particular way the real presence of Jesus among us. The very name of the Feast points clearly to this mystery: the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

This Sunday we are celebrating the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. It is a mystery especially dear to Catholics as it speaks of the fact that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol but is the very body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus. This is very important!

As we celebrate Trinity Sunday – the highest mystery of the Christian Faith – it is worth taking time to consider an essential aspect of our Faith.

Just this week Fr Gerard and I visited the Year 4s who have been learning about the Rosary.

This Sunday we celebrate the Solemnity of the Lord’s Ascension. This solemnity is of great significance as it sheds light into the mystery of Jesus and the His offer of salvation to each of us.

On this Sixth Sunday of Easter, we also celebrate Mother’s Day. I have been told that to forget to honour one’s mother on this day amounts to a mortal sin that needs to be confessed ASAP; an appropriate recompense such as a double share of chocolates, flowers, or even an all-expenses paid trip to Hawaii is also highly warranted.

As Christians, we are often encouraged to read, study, and pray the Bible. But, when we open the Bible, we can find ourselves rather perplexed and left wondering what certain passages could mean.

On this Good Shepherd Sunday and World Day of Prayer for Vocations, I have been reflecting on what it means to shepherd God’s flock here at Infant Jesus Parish. In my conversations with Fr John, staff, volunteers, and parishioners, I have identified two particular areas that I believe we, as a parish community, can give greater attention to.

We are now in the third week of this great season of Easter! In my discussions with parishioners, I am often amazed to hear how some (many!) see Easter as one event, namely Easter Sunday. This week, therefore, I thought it opportune to highlight some important elements of this important season.
